Rose : Vrac Rose
60% Cinsault, 30% Grenache, 10% Tibouren grown in soils made up of Limestone, shale, schist. Direct pressing with some saignée in temperature controlled, stainless steel tanks. In France, "en VRAC" refers to wine bought in bulk directly from the producer, and that's what's been done here. VRAC follows a centuries-old European tradition where villagers buy their wine in bulk "en VRAC" from the local winery. It comes directly from the winemaker's barrels, insuring that they are drinking their favorite wine at the most affordable price. Whatever the source, this is a true crowd-pleaser: it offers ripe strawberries on the nose while the palate is crisp and dry, supported by a pleasing minerality. And it comes in a three-liter bg-in-box, equivalent to four bottles, convenient as well as economical.
Bubbly: Paul Mas Cremant de Limoux
A blend of 70% Chardonnay, 20% Chenin, 10% Mauzac from the Loire. Made from grapes that are 20-30 years in age. 20% of the wine was aged for 6 months in barrels; the rest aged in temperature-controlled tanks. Fine and long-lasting bubbles. White-fleshed fruits, finishing with notes of brioche. On the palate the wine is harmonious and fresh, with a touch of subtle elegance. Pairings: Delightful as an aperitif, or with white fish and veal.
